The Swiss stone pine (Pinus cembra) is one of the most distinctive trees of the Alpine region and is often referred to as the Queen of the Alps because of its unique character.It grows mainly at altitudes between approximately 1,500 and 2,400 metres, where long winters, strong winds and significant temperature fluctuations shape its natural habitat.Thanks to its slow growth, the Swiss stone pine can live for several hundred years.
